Simply the best

This light is hands down the best light out there. I am planning an all night bike ride and with a power bank this light is perfect. It’s super easy to mount and use Solid built American made quality. It’s also very easy to take on and off your bike with the quick disconnect.

The hype is real.

Love my Outbound Detour light! Had my eye on this light for awhile but couldn't pull trigger cus price. Finally just did it cus have a race coming up that I may need light for. Took it out for some night rides and I'm sold on it! Makes me so comfortable to ride at night, which I normally would avoid at all cost. Price wise maybe slightly costlier than other high end lights, but worth every penny. Best gear purchase yet.

Phenomenal Products and Customer Service

I commute in the Boston US area every day, through sun, heat, cold, rain, snow, slop, you know the glorious east coast weather! Bought the Detour Light March 2024 and it failed about a year later. I liked the visibility it gave me and others of me without blinding people in cars and on bike paths, so I quickly bought another unit but also sent a note to Outbound about the failure. Tom refunded my purchase and provided a packing slip so I could send in the failed light for study and to aid in their process of evolving their products. Clear communication, rapid decision-making and a result that got me back on the road with a working light within 2 days. I was so very pleasantly surprised and thankful!

Awesome light, amazing service

I have the detour light and use it for commuting - amazing light and I love the quick release mount. Perfect for my needs - will likely buy more! Additionally, when they say they have a good warranty they mean it. I had an issue and they resolved it quickly. I highly recommend Outbound lights!

Perfect Light

Commuter and overall fitness rider. Previous to my purchase of the Detour Bike Light I used a regular Anker flash light with cheap flash light clamps from Amazon. A co worker recommended outbound. A priority was beam cutoff so I don't blind people when riding on the street or multi use path; secondary was proper fill of the light.

My old light had a dark spot in the center; the first night I rode with the new light I was shocked how good the fill was no only going forward but the width of the beam.

Make the investment into this light if you are a street rider. The mount is sturdy and charges easily. The beam is solid.

Great Light!

The Detour was more than bright enough for me riding around on LA's city streets. I wished the lights would stay on longer at the higher lumen settings. I also wished the mounting bracket came with a choice of what size rubber bushing comes with it for handlebar sizing. I had to buy the smaller sized handlebar bushings. Now I have three large bushings I will never use.

Automotive headlights
For your bike

Bringing our automotive lighting experience to provide a clean cut-off beam pattern that evenly illuminates the road ahead. You wouldn't use a flashlight for your car, why use it for your bike?

Optical Engineering

This is the game changer. Not only did we bring the automotive grade cutoff beam pattern to your handlebars, we took it a step further by precisely controlling how much light leaves the light and hits the ground from the front of your tire all the way up to where you are looking. When you read "it's like riding in daylight" this is why.

We are the only USA-based manufacturer of cutoff (also referred to as StVZO) beam pattern bike lights, we also made sure the light has unreal width to light up the ditches and keep the spooky things away.

Detour was designed with your ride in mind. Long runtime, easy mounting, broad panoramic beam, fast USB-C charging, and all backed by industry leading customer service.

Rock Solid Mounting

A good light isn’t so good if
it’s bouncing up and down on the bars all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Detour so it’s solidly locked to the bar, With a simple shim it adapts from 35mm to 31.8mm handlebars (25.4 and 22mm shims available) and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.

Keep Life Simple

Few people read instruction manuals, even fewer want to, we keep our lights dead simple so that you don’t need an advanced degree to remember some complicated sequence of button presses to get to the mode you want.

USB-C pass-Thru Charging

We were one of the first to offer USB-C charging as standard, except we took it a step further by offering pass-through charging as well. This lets you plug in any USB power bank and charge the light while in use,
in any mode. Game changer for 24 hour races and extra long night rides!

Keeping Cool

When you pick up this light you might be surprised to not feel any metal. Plastic?! Must be something we used to be cheap isn't it? Far from it. This material we use is an incredibly cool (ha) engineered resin that is not only very durable, but also conducts heat. The result is a lightweight, durable, and thermally balanced light housing.

Make your Night ride enjoyable.

It can be sketchy riding at night when you are used to narrow beam patterns better suited for walking in the backyard. Our incredible optical engineering makes riding at night a joy again.
