Best Bicycle lights on the market

These lights are by far the best on the market. i own the Detour Road/Gravel and the Hangover Helmet light. The hangover is amazingly bright and the GoPro mount works great. I bought the detour light because i ride both daytime and night on the roads and gravel trails, the daytime strobe option is why i bought it and at night the peripheral lighting and projector beam give good forward and side to side visibility. I highly recommend these lights, they are worth every penny

2nd review

My first review for the Detour was 5 stars and this one is too. I accidentally left the Detour on my bike during a rainstorm on the back of my car. So it got blasted by a thunderstorm while driving 70mph. It got water in it and I emailed Outbound and they sent me a new one. They really take care of the people that buy from them.
Light wise, it’s a great light. The new one I got looks to be a little bit different, this new one seems to have a bit more throw and a bit more of a hotspot which is actually great. Since it throws forward a little more I don’t feel like I’m outrunning the light when going fast. Great light, great company, great warranty.

Great product and customer service

I've had the Detour light since November, and it has worked great for early morning commutes to work, and rides after work when the sun was going down. It's easy to install, has great run time. Last week I rode a metric century and we got rained on hard for over half the ride. The light worked great during the ride. A few days after the ride I went to charge the light and noticed that it wouldn't take a charge. As I tried to trouble shoot the issue I saw that water had gotten inside the light. I contacted customer service to ask about the warranty. I received a quick reply and easy resolution to my problem. I was sent out a replacement light that day, and was asked to send back my first light so they can inspect it to find the issue. I was very happy with the light before the issue and I'm super happy with the great customer service I received. I will definitely tell my friends to buy lights from Outbound Lighting!

Don't hesitate

I'll admit, I was skeptical. I was having difficulty justifying spending that much on a light.

After using it, I regret not buying this one first.

Genuinely, even for nearly the same price, you can't get a light as good as this one. And when that light dies on you in a few months, and you go to replace it, you'll end up spending more than if you just bought this to begin with.

It's bright; the beam pattern is wide; and after receiving a first hand testimony from a coworker about the companies willingness to support even their legacy products, I feel confident that I'll be using this light for years to come.

Always glad to support a company making a good product and who are willing to stand behind their work.

Best light from long distance riding

I chose this light for my ultra-distance race setup this year, and I just finished my 1st one (Desertus Bikus in Spain, 1400km).
It lives up to all its promises.
Main feedback is that I don't even need high and adaptative modes, only for unexpected situations; Medium mode is bright enough for me, even in the darkest conditions on gravel roads. I would even use low mode when climbing.
I used it almost always plugged to an external battery. Pass-through charging + this super satisfying cable underneath are very neat.
The materials and mount look solid and I can't complain of any default for now. I can't emphasize enough how cool and simple it is to use this light - something alternates could learn from.
Great work Outbound Lighting, and I hope I'll be happy with it in my next races too!

Automotive headlights
For your bike

Bringing our automotive lighting experience to provide a clean cut-off beam pattern that evenly illuminates the road ahead. You wouldn't use a flashlight for your car, why use it for your bike?

Optical Engineering

This is the game changer. Not only did we bring the automotive grade cutoff beam pattern to your handlebars, we took it a step further by precisely controlling how much light leaves the light and hits the ground from the front of your tire all the way up to where you are looking. When you read "it's like riding in daylight" this is why.

We are the only USA-based manufacturer of cutoff (also referred to as StVZO) beam pattern bike lights, we also made sure the light has unreal width to light up the ditches and keep the spooky things away.

No wires.
No fuss.
No Problem.

Say goodbye to bulky battery packs, hanging wires, zipties, and rubber bands holding your lights on your handlebar.

Detour was designed with your ride in mind. Long runtime, easy mounting, broad panoramic beam, fast USB-C charging, and all backed by industry leading customer service.

Rock Solid Mounting

A good light isn’t so good if
it’s bouncing up and down on the bars all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Detour so it’s solidly locked to the bar, With a simple shim it adapts from 35mm to 31.8mm handlebars (25.4 and 22mm shims available) and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.

Keep Life Simple

Few people read instruction manuals, even fewer want to, we keep our lights dead simple so that you don’t need an advanced degree to remember some complicated sequence of button presses to get to the mode you want.

USB-C pass-Thru Charging

We were one of the first to offer USB-C charging as standard, except we took it a step further by offering pass-through charging as well. This lets you plug in any USB power bank and charge the light while in use,
in any mode. Game changer for 24 hour races and extra long night rides!

Keeping Cool

When you pick up this light you might be surprised to not feel any metal. Plastic?! Must be something we used to be cheap isn't it? Far from it. This material we use is an incredibly cool (ha) engineered resin that is not only very durable, but also conducts heat. The result is a lightweight, durable, and thermally balanced light housing.

Make your Night ride enjoyable.

It can be sketchy riding at night when you are used to narrow beam patterns better suited for walking in the backyard. Our incredible optical engineering makes riding at night a joy again.
