Probably the best helmet light on the market. Comes with both mounts, the regular curved helmet mount and the wide base. Feels like a million bucks, super solid, and very easy to use. Can't wait to race Old Pueblo with it

Daylight on demand
I updated my setup without hesitation, I had the evo and the hangover and have been waiting and ordered my portal and it’s a match made in eternal darkness. The pattern and brightness was worth every penny as this time of year I ride almost exclusively at night and was a worthy upgrade to the hangover . I used to just ride with a handlebar mounted light but the helmet mounted light is just next level . My confidence has never been higher . Thank you Outbound Lightning for making ride time #anytime !

Excellent. Pair Portal w/ inexpensive bar light = good to go
My kids and I use a Portal as a helmet light in conjunction with an off-brand inexpensive handlebar light (about 1250 lumens). That's plenty of light for us when running in the "adaptive" setting. My kids are FAST single track XC racers and they are not out-running their lighting in this configuration. Placing the helmet mount at crown of helmet as instructed keeps the weight off the neck. The Portal seems like an expensive purchase until it is used then it is like "dang, this is as advertised." One small plus and kudos to Outbound: thank you for making the charging cord a decent length (about 16").

Amazing light, like every other light I own from Outbound
I've been using Outbound lights exclusively since their Kickstarter campaign in 2017/2018. Their lights work amazingly well, and the Portal is no exception. I use it with the Evo and the width of the beam is very welcome. Amazingly well built as is all of their products, and they have customer service that's 2nd to none.
In order to hit the same runtime as Trail Evo, and have higher peak brightness than Hangover we shoved a 5,000 mAH genuine Samsung 50E 21700 battery cell and wrapped the light around it.
This results in 43% more capacity over our Hangover light, meaning far longer runtimes (up to 2.5 hours on adaptive, a 50% increase over Hangover).
Even brighter!
While more lumens isn't always the answer, we added in some more brightness and increased the beam pattern width over Hangover to provide even more punch down the trail.
New finely tuned optics with 30% larger TIR cones means higher optical efficiency and more peripheral light to help spot the spooky stuff.
Simple User Interface
Few people read instruction manuals, even fewer want to, so we keep our lights dead simple so that you don’t need an advanced degree to remember some complicated button presses get to the mode you want.
Portal’s soft-touch overmolded top shell has a single, large button right in the middle that’s easy to feel through a thick winter glove in the dark, so you don’t have to hunt blindly around on top of your head just to turn it on.
