Balanced and bright
Portal light has excellent wide beam and lasts. Don't even feel weight difference in comparing overhang . A blastof light on dark evening rides!

Another winner with the new Portal
I have had my Detour for night time road riding, but I got a fat bike and wanted to ride on the beach and trails. So I got the Portal with the QR handlebar mount adapter. The beam pattern is wider than the Detour, and a little brighter for when I need to ride on the streets, but for riding on the beach and trails, this is perfect for me. The strobe setting for street riding when there are steet lights is awesome. I used it for a downtown Christmas Tacky Lights tour on the fat bike, and after 2+ hours there was still 75% battery life. Construction is robust. I like the Portal as a bar mount light for a little bit of road riding (without too much bothersome light for drivers) and for the beach and trails. Thanks, Jason, for suggesting this light for my particular needs. Great products and customer service.

Nice upgrade!
Little heavier than the hangover or whatever we call the original helmet light, but it’s really not noticeable to me on the ride. Brightness increase is significant and runtime is great. Perfect for my 2-3 hour night rides in winter.

Bright as f***!
Brightest bike light I've ever owned. Great depth and breadth of field. Pocket-sized for dog walks and light weight helmet-mounted riding. I got a Hangover as well, which is even slightly smaller but still bright as f***!
In order to hit the same runtime as Trail Evo, and have higher peak brightness than Hangover we shoved a 5,000 mAH genuine Samsung 50E 21700 battery cell and wrapped the light around it.
This results in 43% more capacity over our Hangover light, meaning far longer runtimes (up to 2.5 hours on adaptive, a 50% increase over Hangover).
Even brighter!
While more lumens isn't always the answer, we added in some more brightness and increased the beam pattern width over Hangover to provide even more punch down the trail.
New finely tuned optics with 30% larger TIR cones means higher optical efficiency and more peripheral light to help spot the spooky stuff.
Simple User Interface
Few people read instruction manuals, even fewer want to, so we keep our lights dead simple so that you don’t need an advanced degree to remember some complicated button presses get to the mode you want.
Portal’s soft-touch overmolded top shell has a single, large button right in the middle that’s easy to feel through a thick winter glove in the dark, so you don’t have to hunt blindly around on top of your head just to turn it on.
