I have had MagicShine and Jet Lites work for ever on my helmets. They are dated, dont fit snuggly (bounce a bi) are corded so need a battery in a backpack or hip pack but have worked without fail. I have decided to give the new/updated downhill package a try and have been very happy with the performance thus far. The double sided tape has been great for the helmet mount and though it is several grams heavier than my older lights it has a better flood and doesn't bounce around thus is easier on the neck. My older Cateye bar light is greatly outmatched here as well. So far so good. My only gripe is that the USB port for the Evo is recessed far enough that several of my cords that sit in my charging stations do not fully seat thus do not charge it. The port for the Portal isn't as recessed (wont have as much mud/water spraying into it by location) so works just fine with all of my cords. Overall, I am satisfied hoping for the longevity of use that I have gotten from my other lights with this great all around package.

Like everyone else has said, they offer extremely high quality products but I can’t tell you the longevity of the product as I’ve only had it a month now but I can’t tell it’ll last a long time. One of my favourite parts is the mounting bracket is almost identical to GoPro so and attachments you have for go pro, this light will fit onto.
In fact it is meant to be compatible with all Action Camera Mount or GoPro-style designs out there so you don't get locked into something proprietary from us for helmet mounting, glad it's working well for you!

Rock Solid Mounting
A good light isn’t so good if it’s bouncing up and down on all the time. That’s why we made a bolt-on clamp mount for Evo. It’s solidly locked to the bar and the beam won’t shake around like lights with rubber strap mounts do.
It's an easy one-handed quick-release process to pop Trail Evo off post-ride to charge.
