Bike Lights
This has been a great addition to my lighting needs. Used primarily on gravel routes and some single track. It’s lighter than the Portal so on shorter less technical terrain it’s perfect! Outbound lights have changed my comfort level in riding at night- thanks
I updated my setup without hesitation, I had the evo and the hangover and have been waiting and ordered my portal and it’s a match made in eternal darkness. The pattern and brightness was worth every penny as this time of year I ride almost exclusively at night and was a worthy upgrade to the hangover . I used to just ride with a handlebar mounted light but the helmet mounted light is just next level . My confidence has never been higher . Thank you Outbound Lightning for making ride time #anytime !
These lights are incredible, I procrastinated on buying them for a while because they're on the pricy side, but they're absolutely worth it. I have confidence to get out on the trails at night which I could never have done with other lights I've had in the past. The battery outlasts my stamina, and provide excellent visibility in all types of weather. I look forward to many night rides now that I have these.
My bike crew and I have all upgraded to the Outbound lighting package and now our Wednesday Night Rides in Farifax, CA are so well lit we can rip some killer single track.
So today I headed out at 430 AM into unpacked powder with 1 F air temp for 1.5 hours...Given the fact I was on my backup fatbike I used the Portal 75% of the time before I tirned on my old school bar light. The portal has amazing battery life when compared to the hangover [great light but not if going long]. Make sure you get the portal squared up just right on the helmet as it is alot heavier than the hangover [great summer light]. And make sure you run the outbound barlight it is A+ as well.
I got a chance to use my new Hangover helmet light this week. I love that it mounts like a GoPro, instead of having to strap it to the helmet. I have a Smith Forefront 2 helmet which has a port for a GoPro style mount. In my opinion it's a much cleaner looking system. The light is very bright and sends out a wide beam due to its flat, horizontal shape. I does a great job of bringing the entire trail into view. I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. What impressed me the most about Outbound Lighting is their customer service. My light was stolen by a porch pirate. I contacted the company hoping for a discount code on a replacement light. After sending them the video of the light being stolen, they replaced the light for free (Thank you Jason!!). Great customer service is alive and well. When it's time to replace my handlebar light, I'll be purchasing from Outbound Lighting.

I’m so impressed with this light setup! My friend turned me onto them and they are just the highest quality and battery life is great! Highly recommend
I just received my Evo/Portal combo. I bought these based purely on my experience with my Evo /Hangover combo that I’ve been running for the last year or so. These lights far surpass the other brand I’ve used that kind of look like a sausage on the bike I have it on. Battery life is phenomenal and the lighting pattern is ideal for the woods of NE OH and the northern part of PA that I’ve been fortunate to ride. I had two riders that were super stoked I had my light on at dusk when we nearly “met up” from opposite directions with one shouting his thanks for the light as we were all going at a pretty good pace. Being seen at dusk is a big part of having a light in my opinion. The only negative I can see is I read the packaging yet still tried to take a bite anyway. My dentist might not be thrilled with my endeavor….Thanks for such an awesome product, even if they taste funky.
Got my first Outbound light, a hangover in 2021, and it's been great. Recently picked up a new Hangover, and it's much brighter than my original; the tech has definitely improved over time. A week ago I added in the Portal light, and tried em both together last night on my local trail (Hines Park, in Metro Detroit) I ride to at night after work. Wow!!! these lights make night riding so much fun, I was actually laughing like an idiot at times. If you like riding and don't want to let the short seasons squash your fun, you must get some of these lights.
Super easy to install with the included mounts, very intuitive to use & charge with the led indicators. Been riding ~1hr at night &only drains it one bar on the adaptive setting. Lights up everything you need to see. I have it paired with the Detour commuter light in these photos/videos
These are absolutely fantastic, I have the Evo & Hangover. Have been an absolute game changer for Fall riding and early morning rides. They function so well together giving a perfect balance of peripheral light and focused light exactly where you need it to truly ride with confidence. I’ve been able to ride technical black diamond trails with about the same speed as day time with these. The mounts are rock solid, battery life is great and designs are sleek. I was not sure if I’d want the bigger portal or not, but the hang over is probably my favorite and I have ridden with it alone. It’s a lot of light in such a small profile, big fan.
I purchased these as a package deal to replace an older handlebar light. One of my riding buddies recommended them and I could not be more happy with the purchase. These lights are extremely well made and super bright. Run time is amazing, and the overall weight is not noticeable. I will purchase these again when the time comes.
I have used several lights over the years, from the Cree lights with battery packs, to top shelf Trek bikes lights. None were dedicated helmet mountain bike lights. The Portal helmet light I bought checks all the boxes. Rugged, bright, and long lasting. I foresee I will have this light for years to come.
I also bought a Giro Montaro helmet with an integrated camera mount. Perfect combination.
Wanted the best light without external powerbank with the ability to do so if needed for longer runs.. ended up with a light so good i almost prefer riding when the sun is down, my confidence is somehow better, i see everything and at the same time only what i want to see. Not a big fan of the button on either portal or evo and a remote option would be nice, but only for the convience of not blinding other people, it's not their fault you guys somehow made the sun in pocksize.
Ok so I had a bad start with the light 4 days later I went to charge the light and mount snapped I got mad Sent a mean message customer service however customer service did fix the broken part and even sent me some cool stickers awsome bike light and def plan to buy more lights and recommend 100% if it breaks they fix it and it's American made
